AV Support Technician
We are seeking a customer-focused and proactive On-Site AV Support Technician to oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot our corporate office audio-visual systems. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical contact for hybrid meeting rooms, corporate events, and day-to-day collaboration technology across the office.
You will ensure seamless audio, video, and presentation experiences for all employees, provide real-time support during critical meetings, and keep our AV infrastructure running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Meeting & Event Support: Provide hands-on, pre-meeting checks and live technical support for town halls, executive meetings, and team video conferences.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and room control issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Daily Room Readiness: Perform routine sweeps across all meeting rooms, huddle spaces, and boardrooms to verify equipment performance, cable hygiene, and system functionality.
System Operations: Configure and manage unified communication systems, display feeds, wireless screen-sharing solutions, and central control interfaces.
Inventory & Vendor Coordination: Track AV equipment assets, log service requests, and liaise with external vendors and IT teams for maintenance and hardware replacements.
User Support & Training: Help employees get comfortable using meeting room technology and maintain simple operational guides for self-service spaces.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
1. Video Conferencing & Collaboration Systems
Solid experience operating major enterprise video conferencing platforms and soft-codec room systems.
Familiarity with hybrid meeting room workflows and unified communications setup.
2. AV Control & Signal Distribution
Hands-on experience operating room control systems, touch panels, and digital signal routing hardware.
Practical understanding of audio-visual switchers, signal extenders, and wireless presentation equipment.
3. Audio Systems & Sound Processing
Working knowledge of audio digital signal processors (DSPs) and sound reinforcement setups.
Experience setting up and troubleshooting installed ceiling arrays, boundary microphones, and wireless microphone systems.
Understanding of core audio principles, including gain staging, echo cancellation, and room acoustics.
4. Displays & Presentation Hardware
Familiarity with commercial displays, interactive whiteboards, LED walls, and projection systems.
Basic understanding of digital signage systems and content distribution across office spaces.
5. Cabling & Network Fundamentals
Basic understanding of AV-over-IP standards and networked audio protocols.
Knowledge of standard networking concepts (IP addressing, VLAN basics, PoE) as applied to AV hardware.
Experience with standard video and audio cabling standards (HDMI, USB-C, DisplayPort, and network patch cables).
Preferred Certifications & Experience
Industry-standard AV or IT certifications (e.g., general AV technology fundamentals, control system certifications, or networking fundamentals).
2+ years of hands-on experience providing technical AV or desktop support within a professional corporate or enterprise environment.

Strong Communication: Clear, user-friendly communication style with the ability to explain technical steps to non-technical users.
